Quilts

Marge Morris is always quilting.  She recently made these two quilts.  One is a baby quilt with an ABC panel and matching ABC fabric in the border.  It is quilted with ABC's in the panel, lines forming an X in the check part, ribbon candy in the red border and lines in the outer blue border.

This one is a fun 9-patch with a dog and cat on it.  Most of the quilt is quilted with a paw pattern.
I did some free-hand quilting on the dog and cat.

Julie Guise made this king-size quilt for her SIL.  The top is made from 5-yards of fabric.  (One of those bundles she picked up in Paducah.)  She lost the pattern that originally came with it, but found this one with a large block size.  (15")
When you put the blocks together, it makes a secondary pattern - a pinwheel.
Here is the result...
Add a little quilting and wha-laa!  I quilted it with a panto of swirls and flower.

Batik 9-Patch

Simply and charming, this batik 9-patch gets the job done.  It's also a great scrap buster.  Pieced by Marge M., she used 2 different background fabrics - though you can't tell.
A leaf design was chosen to be quilted in the alternate plain blocks and sides.

The 9-patch blocks are quilted with connecting arcs with a lighter color thread.  This allows the background fabric to be quilted down, it doesn't compete with the design quilted next to it and it allows the batik fabrics to POP forward.
Because it's set on point, it really makes it more interesting to look at.  Super easy and great results!

Baltimore Album style quilt and Batik 9-Patch

This quilt was pieced by Pam J.  It is a pattern from Laundry Basket Quilts, Edyta Sitar's Hop To It book.  It is fusible applique secured with a tiny zig-zag stitch.  I wish I would have taken more photos.  Click on the picture for a close up.  I quilted the background with a small stipple so the piecing would pop.  Feathers in the borders.

9-Patch Batik
This quilt was pieced by Peggy Y.  Made as a wedding gift.  I quilted four separate wedding scenes.  You will see Wedding Bells (above), the bride and groom (below)

Wine Glasses...
There is also a wedding cake, doves, a bridal bouquet, a Just Married sign on the back of a car, Rings, Chapel, Gazebo, Cake Knife, Cake Topper, Garter, Flowers.  It's perfect for the occasion.
