Americana Sampler Quilt

This red-white-blue sampler quilt was made by Janet’s mother.  It was custom quilted in her memory.  It has a lot of cats on it, so I quilted a cat border.

Nutcracker Quilt

Here's a beautiful Nutcracker Quilt made by Marilyn H.  It was a block of the month club.  Her piecing and satin-stitching is impeccable.  I enjoyed quilting it.  Each nutcracker has a different background fill.  Check it out...

Tonga Batiks

Here's a quilt I just finished for customer Becky W.  She created a log-cabin look with plain square blocks.  I love 2-color quilts.

Cinco De Mayo

Here a some pictures of a lively Cinco de Mayo quilt.

The top was made by Jane Kaufman.  (Karen Stone pattern.)  Impeccable piecing and points.  It was very well pressed, laid flat, making it easier to work on and quilt.

Quilts in January

Here are the first couple customer quilts that I quilted in January.
The first one has wintery fabrics, including pinecones and holly.  It is made from large blocks of rectangles and a square.  It's quilted with a woodsy pattern of pinecones, acorns, leaves and branches.  It turned out great and would look perfect in a cabin!

Next up is a small quilt.  Wide table runner size.  Log cabin blocks in red and creams.  I used a feather with flower in cream areas and another free-hand feather design in the red areas.   A double feathered wreath is in the center (red).

New Year Resolutions

Hope you are ready for the New Year!  I am making resolutions by the handful and one of them is to be healthier in 2011.  I joined a health club and I'm working to make exercise a healthy habit.
I also joined www.sparkpeople.com, an on-line website that helps me track my nutrition, fitness and other goals.  I love the menu plans and calorie tracker.  It's free - so check it out.

I did not quilt or piece anything over the Christmas holiday.  I took a break from all sewing and quilting activities.  But it's back to work now.  I am quilting a customer quilt right now - a "Cinco De Mayo" quilt (Karen Stone pattern) and I'll share pictures when it's done.  It's very time consuming.

Hope you are all quilting and sewing to your heart's content!
